WIP Wednesday: Handspun Hat

I’m thrilled to be knitting this project. It’s the first time I’ve knit with my handspun yarn and it’s the first yarn I spun myself. I can’t wait to wear the hat when it’s done.

I have lots to chose from when it comes to fiber but the bits closest to hand are little things. I felt it was silly to pull out the spinning wheel for such a small bit of fiber so I grabbed the new drop spindle that I’d been given. Sadly .. I don’t think it’s heavy enough, at least for my experience, and the fiber is bleeding green on my hands like crazy. Plus I’m having a bit of trouble with the format of the fiber, a rolag.

Well, I did log into Star Wars The Old Republic …. and promptly fell asleep. I was just a little wiped out from Saturday.

The Hauntings of Playing God by Chris Dietzel. I’m almost half way through this and still not quite sure what to think of it.

  1. That book sounds very interesting and a little disturbing – just how I like my books. It sounds like a good vacation read. I’ve yet to knit anything using my handspun, but you’ve inspired me! I plan on getting some of it plied and skeined for a little beach knitting. Thanks for sharing!

  2. Wow. A hat from your first handspun! Keep forever.
