WIP Wednesday: Lekku and Socks

“What are you making?” “Tentacles.” I love the looks I get and that’s far easier to deal with than trying to explain what lekku are. Once more the pattern kinda blows so I’m doing them at the same time and making it up as I go.

Lots of time at shows and such so some progress on these. Though now I need to figure out what type of heel to use as I’m not a fan of the basic short row heel.

As I mentioned, there’s very little progress here as I’m fighting a steep learning curve and lack of time. But!! Yarn!

There was a bit of negative progress but I think I’ve made up for it and now all my squares are actually square! I need to replace a couple of squares that were too short by just a touch and I also need to iron them before I sew the strips together. Hopefully this time I’ll remember to iron the seems correctly.

Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov. I can’t say I’m enjoying it … but I am getting through it.

  1. My favourite sock heel at the moment is a gusset heel from Wendy D Johnson’s Socks from the Toe Up book. I quite like slip stitch and sweet tomato heels too. Your spinning looks good πŸ™‚
