Knitting:
I finished a quick commission and got ready to cast on for the Balmoral Bonnet I’d been looking forward to. The yarn is 100% alpaca and I was dreaming of that lovely softness slipping through my fingers as I knit it up.
I got this far before I realized I didn’t have the measurements I needed. With time running short (we had to leave to go to gaming) and my stash in upheaval from a recent emergency move, I grabbed a random skein and cast on for what I’d earmarked it for. During gaming I got most of the cuff of Pomatomus socks before really checking the numbers again. If I had another skein back home I was good, plenty for the pair. Once home though I rummaged around and finally decided that no, I just had the one. So back to the start we go.
I think it’ll become a pair of Twisted Socks. Maybe.
Reading:

Reading Lolita in Terhan by Azar Nafisi. I actually got a bit read while in a waiting room the other day so it’s progressing.
Oh, no. Disaster. I hate when yarn shortages occur.
Luckily I didn’t have my heart set on one pattern. I think I’ve got a plan for them now, basic toe up socks with a contrast toe and heel.
I always seem to have too much, or not enough, of the yarns I want to use. Just how does that happen? I guess when you buy without an idea in mind. LOL! Lovely yarns, they will eventually grow up into something wonderful.
Yep! Plus this was one of my first sock yarn purchases and I had heard somewhere that one skein would make 2 socks.
